Project Overview

This internal migration project involved replicating a complete WooCommerce website from an existing subdomain (lumina-naturals.wpshiftstudio.com) to a newly set up subdomain (migration-duplicator.wpshiftstudio.com) under the same hosting account.

The project was built to demonstrate real-world domain + hosting migration best practices.

Objective

The main goal was to simulate a client scenario where a site needs to be migrated to a new domain and hosting path without breaking design, links, SEO, or security configuration.

This was also an opportunity to test plugin compatibility, performance, and safe deployment.

Solution

Created a staging subdomain for source: migration-duplicator-src.wpshiftstudio.com.

Used All-in-One WP Migration to first copy the original Lumina Naturals site into the staging source.

Installed Duplicator on the source site to create a full site package.

Created a new subdomain migration-duplicator.wpshiftstudio.com for destination.

Set up a new MySQL database in Hostinger.

Uploaded Duplicator installer and archive, ran the installer, and completed migration.

Used Better Search Replace to fix serialized domain references.

Verified all links, products, and SEO settings migrated correctly.

Submitted new XML sitemap and checked robots.txt.

Re-activated Solid Security and Rank Math carried over successfully.

Results

✅ Full migration completed successfully

✅ Website runs cleanly on the new subdomain

✅ SEO meta data, XML sitemap, and robots.txt preserved

✅ No layout shifts, plugin conflicts, or 404 errors

✅ Site remains secure with Solid Security enabled post-migration

✅ Demonstrates safe, SEO-friendly WordPress migration to a new host and domain
